apibrėžtis Technologas, kuris laboratorijoje atlieka cheminius, biocheminius, biologinius ir biotechnologinius tyrimus ir analizes, siekdamas sukurti medicinoje naudojamus naujus būdus ir įtaisus ar aparatus arba surasti būdus galimam kai kurių gyvųjų organizmų (mielių, bakterijų ir pan.) praktiniam panaudojimui žemės ūkio maisto produktams gaminti, atliekoms perdirbti, farmacijoje ir kt. Tam tikslui jis maišo ir stebi virusus, bakterijas ir antikūnus, užsirašo tyrimų rezultatus. Stengiasi visus darbus atlikti kruoščiai ir tiksliai, siekdamas užtikrinti laboratorinių eksperimentų kokybę.
